Golden milk

Anti-inflammatory • Warming • Nervous System Support

Creamy, aromatic golden milk is a traditional warming tonic rooted in the wellness traditions of India and the ancient healing science of Ayurveda. Historically consumed as a restorative bedtime drink, it was valued for supporting digestion, immune resilience, and nervous system calm.

The modern version is a soothing, lightly sweetened latte-style beverage designed to reduce inflammation, support relaxation, and provide gentle metabolic balance while feeling comforting and indulgent.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or organic full-cream milk

  • ½ tsp ground turmeric

  • Small pinch of black pepper (important for absorption and activation of turmeric)

  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp raw honey or monk fruit syrup (optional)

  • 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee

  • Small pinch of ground ginger (optional but recommended)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract, pinch of chilli powder or ½ tsp raw cacao(optional)

Method

Warm the milk
Gently heat milk in a small saucepan over low–medium heat. Do not allow it to boil.

Add the golden spice base
Whisk in turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, and ginger if using. Continue stirring to prevent clumping.

Activate absorption and creaminess
Add coconut oil or ghee — this supports fat-soluble nutrient absorption of turmeric’s active compounds.

Sweeten lightly
Stir in honey or chosen natural sweetener once the mixture is warm (not hot).

Finish
Add optional add-ons if desired and whisk until the milk becomes silky and aromatic.

Serving

Pour into a warm mug and enjoy slowly before sleep or during a quiet restorative pause in the day.
